Custom Event Posters That Pull a Crowd

An event nobody hears about is an empty room. We print custom event posters — concerts, festivals, fundraisers, grand openings — on stocks that pop from a coffee-shop corkboard or a rain-side window, in runs from ten to ten thousand.

Everything you need to know about custom event posters

A custom event poster is still the cheapest square footage of advertising a local event can buy: a bold sheet in the right ten windows reaches the neighborhood every day for weeks. Print quality decides whether it reads as “can’t miss this” or “bake sale” — and quality is mostly size, stock and ink.

Ordering well means matching poster size to viewing distance, stock to where it hangs, and quantity to how wide you’re promoting. This guide covers all three, plus design specs, pricing tiers and turnaround. Have artwork ready? Get a custom quote and we’ll proof it today.

Why go custom

Ink on a wall still fills rooms

Feeds scroll past; a custom event poster stands in one place and repeats your date to everyone who walks by. For local events it outperforms its cost so reliably that promoters treat posters as fixed infrastructure, not an option.

Seen by everyone local

The people walking past a poster are exactly the people close enough to attend — zero targeting budget required.

Working 24/7 until doors

A poster promotes every hour from the day it goes up to the night of the show.

Cheap enough to blanket

At bulk pricing, covering every board and window in town costs less than a day of paid ads.

How it works

From artwork to lamppost in four steps

1

Send your artwork

Upload print-ready art, or send the details and we’ll set the layout for you.

2

We preflight and proof

We check bleed, resolution and color, then send a digital proof.

3

You approve

Confirm the proof, size and count. Nothing prints until you sign off.

4

We print and ship

Posters print, dry, and ship flat or tubed — ready to hang the day they land.

Sizes and viewing distance

Poster sizes: how far should it shout?

Size is about where the poster lives. A bulletin board reads at arm’s length; a storefront window has to stop people across the street. Match the size to the farthest eyeball you need — here’s what each standard size covers.

Effective viewing distance by poster size (ft)

0 15 30 45 60 11×17 Boards 18×24 Promo pick 24×36 Windows 27×40 Street

18×24 is the workhorse — big enough for a storefront, small enough for any corkboard in town.

Where event posters actually get seen

Windows do the heavy lifting — print at least half your run at window-stopping size.

Stocks that survive the sidewalk

Event posters print on 100# gloss or satin text as the standard — heavy enough to hang flat, glossy enough to make stage photos and bold color jump. For window and outdoor duty we step up to card-weight cover stock or waterproof synthetic that shrugs off condensation and drizzle.

Ink matters as much as paper: runs print with high-pigment inks that hold reds and blacks — the colors event posters lean on — without banding. Every order is color-checked against your proof before it ships.

  • 100# gloss text — the concert-poster standard
  • Satin option — glare-free under gallery lights
  • Card-weight cover — stands stiff in windows
  • Waterproof synthetic — for bus stops and patios
  • High-pigment inks — reds and blacks that stay loud
  • Flat or tubed shipping — no creases on arrival

Color guide

Color choices that stop foot traffic

A poster has about one second to earn a glance. High-contrast palettes win that second:

Promoter’s rule: one loud color, one dark, one light — and the date bigger than you think it should be.

Bulk pricing

How event poster pricing works

Posters price per piece by size, stock and quantity — and quantity is where the math gets friendly: doubling a run raises the bill far less than double. Blanketing a neighborhood is cheaper than most promoters expect.

FAQ

Event poster questions, answered

What file do you need for printing?
A PDF, PNG or TIFF at 150–300 DPI at final size, with an eighth-inch bleed if your art runs to the edge. Not sure? Send what you have — preflight is part of every order and we’ll flag anything that won’t print clean.
Can you design the poster for us?
Yes — send the event details, artwork pieces and a look you like, and our layout service sets a print-ready design you approve before the run.
What's the minimum order?
Ten posters — enough for a venue and its neighbors. Per-piece pricing improves sharply at 50, 250 and 1,000.
Which size should I pick?
18×24 if you’re picking one: it fits windows, walls and boards. Add 24×36 for storefronts and 11×17 for crowded corkboards — mixed-size runs of one design are a standard order.
Will the colors match my screen?
We color-manage every run and send a proof first; on gloss stock, reds, oranges and blacks land noticeably richer than a backlit screen suggests. Critical brand colors? Note the values and we’ll match them.
Can posters survive outdoors?
On synthetic stock, yes — rain, sun and tape all week. Standard paper stocks are for indoor and covered spots; we’ll split your run across both if some posters face weather.
Do you print date or city variants?
Yes — same design with changed dates, cities or acts prints as one run with versioning, which costs far less than separate orders. Tours and series run this way by default.
How fast can I get them?
Standard runs print and ship in 2–4 business days plus transit; rush same-week service is available when the show is close. Tell us your date and we’ll work backwards from it.
How do posters ship without creasing?
Small runs ship flat in rigid mailers; larger sizes and runs ship rolled in heavy tubes. Either way they arrive hang-ready.
Can I reorder the same poster later?
Yes — your art and specs stay on file, so reprints match the first run and skip proofing unless you change something.
Do you print numbered or limited editions?
Yes — sequential numbering and short-run editions on heavier art stocks are available; bands and theaters sell them at the merch table.
How do I get a quote?
Send your size mix, quantity, stock preference and date through the quote form — you’ll get itemized pricing and a proof timeline back, usually the same day.
